JellyRoll DeFord , known professionally as originally stylized as , is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Beginning his career in 2003, he rose to mainstream prominence following the release of his 2022 singles "Son of a Sinner" and "Need a Favor".

"Son of a Sinner" won three CMT Music Awards in 2023.That same year, he won for New Artist at the CMA Awards, and was nominated for Best New Artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

Country star Jelly Roll doesn’t want to repeat his embarrassing blunder at the CMA Awards on November 20. But first, he’ll have to win another trophy.

The 39-year-old made headlines for the wrong reason last year after he dropped his trophy for New Artist of the Year backstage. He recently spoke about the mishap on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“I was just so excited and so nervous that I had the sweatiest, shakiest palms. And that [trophy] is—I’m already not a physically fit man—and that thing’s heavy,” the singer told Fallon, explaining that he tried to change his grip to shake someone’s hand. “This is the story of my life though, Jimmy. I finally get my life together, I win the biggest award, best new artist and then I came backstage and fumbled the ball. Just dropped it right there.

Jelly Roll has been married to his wife Alyssa DeFord, known as "Bunnie XO", since 2016. The couple renewed their wedding vows in 2023. He has two children from previous relationships: daughter Bailee (b. 2008), over whom he and Bunnie have full custody, and son Noah (b. 2016)
